Our story began with a conversation among four close friends and the courage to bring something new to the Maldives. Together, we turned a shared passion into Island Perfume Bar.

Our beginning
Friendship at the foundation.
The Maldives has always been a place of possibility. For us, that possibility was a perfume experience people could make their own.
We wanted to introduce a new way to discover fragrance: a welcoming space where customers could explore scents, find their favourites, and create something personal. Deep friendship, a shared passion, and the determination to see our idea through became the foundation of the business.
That vision became Island Perfume Bar on Lonuziyaaraiy Magu in Malé. In January 2022, covered its opening as the Maldives’ first perfume bar, marking the beginning of a journey we had built together.
Day jobs.
Late nights.
A dream taking shape.
Before we welcomed our first customer, we built the shop ourselves, one evening at a time.
All four of us were working demanding full-time jobs. When our shifts ended, the work on our dream began. Night after night, we stayed until three or four in the morning, building our first boutique from the ground up without outside help.
Two months of patience, sacrifice, and shared effort brought the store to life. Those early nights shaped the way we work today: with care, persistence, and a sense of responsibility for everything that carries our name.

A love of fragrance brought us together. Developing our expertise helped us turn that passion into a craft.
Four of our founders travelled abroad for specialised training in perfume making. Returning home, they shared that knowledge directly with our staff, building an understanding of fragrance composition and the care involved in every blend.
Quality has remained central to our growth. We source and import premium fragrance oils directly from Spain and France, bringing together carefully selected ingredients and the skills of our team to offer beautifully composed scents at accessible prices.

Our wholesale division supplies attars and room sprays. Investment in modern manufacturing machinery supports the next stage of our production.

A nationwide ambition.
The response to our first shop gave us the confidence to grow, opening a second boutique in Malé and expanding into Hulhumalé.
Our connection to customers reaches beyond our boutiques. With direct delivery across Malé and Hulhumalé and ferry connections to other islands, we work to bring favourite fragrances closer to the communities we serve. Customers can also reach us through Facebook and Viber to arrange their orders.
Our long-term ambition is to open an Island Perfume Bar in the capital of every atoll in the Maldives. Each next step carries the same purpose that brought four friends together: to make a personal fragrance experience accessible to more people.
